2. The full articles of asso­ci­ation and details of our organisation’s object­ives

Our vision is a society that is informed by good climate reporting in the Media and motiv­ated to take action. As an inclusive, community-led initi­ative, we advocate for journ­alism that gives climate protec­tion and the climate crisis the media atten­tion they deserve. To this end, we advise media profes­sionals and decision-making bodies, combat disin­form­a­tion and call for regular programmes – partic­u­larly on public-service broad­casting. 3. Inform­a­tion on tax relief

KLIMA° vor acht e.V. is recog­nised as a char­it­able organ­isa­tion; dona­tions and member­ship fees are tax-deduct­ible. Latest confirm­a­tion: Exemp­tion notice from the Hamburg-Nord Tax Office dated 14 November 2023, tax number 17/431/16999, issued for the tax assess­ment periods 2020 and 2021. The asso­ci­ation is exempt from corpor­a­tion tax under Section 5(1)(9) of the Corpor­a­tion Tax Act (KStG) and from trade tax under Section 3(6) of the Trade Tax Act (GewStG). The recog­nised char­it­able purpose is the promo­tion of public and voca­tional educa­tion, including student support (Sections 51 et seq., 52(2), first sentence, No. 7 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)). For dona­tions of up to 300 euros, the simpli­fied dona­tion receipt (184 KB, PDF) is suffi­cient as proof for the tax office.

4. Names and roles of the decision-makers

The association’s most important body is the General Meeting: here, all members, each with one vote, make decisions regarding the running of the asso­ci­ation. Decisions in accord­ance with the Articles of Asso­ci­ation are taken by the volun­tary board, which was last elected on 27 June 2026. The board consists of the two co-chairs and the treas­urer:

There is currently no full-time manage­ment. The General Meeting is the association’s most important body. Here, all members have the oppor­tunity to have a say in funda­mental matters through demo­cratic decision-making and to elect the board. 5. Annual Report

We report publicly on our ongoing work: you can find analyses, campaigns, programme complaints and our achieve­ments in the ‘News’ section and under ‘Our Impact’. We currently work on a formal activity report in accord­ance with ITZ guidelines.

7. Inform­a­tion on the source of funds

Our funding comes predom­in­antly from dona­tions from supporters – ranging from the crowd­funding campaign for the first series of the podcast in 2020 to ongoing dona­tions via our online dona­tion form. We currently work on a report detailing the income for the last finan­cial year, broken down into dona­tions, member­ship fees and other sources.

8. Inform­a­tion on the use of funds

We allocate our funds where they make the biggest impact: towards programme and project expenditure relating to podcasts, analyses and resources for schools and key influ­en­cers, as well as towards admin­is­trative costs. We currently work on a report with the expenditure for the last finan­cial year – broken down into programme, advert­ising and admin­is­trative costs.

9. Affil­i­ation with third parties under company law

KLIMA° vor acht e.V. holds no shares in other legal entities and has no corporate ties to any other organ­isa­tion. We collab­orate with part­ners on specific projects and campaigns – an over­view of our part­ner­ships can be found on the relevant page.

10. Names of indi­viduals whose annual dona­tions account for more than ten per cent of our total annual income

In the 2025 finan­cial year, there were no indi­vidual donors whose contri­bu­tions accounted for more than ten per cent of our total income.
