KLIMA° vor acht
Together, we can achieve more! That is why we work with organisations that, like us, are committed to improving climate coverage – including our French counterpart QuotaClimat and Netzwerk Klimajournalismus. We share knowledge and experiences and develop formats together.

Brings climate knowledge into newsrooms and facilitates exchange amongst journalists and media professionals. This includes a joint charter of principles for climate journalism, a monthly newsletter, the ‘brandmelder’ series – which analyses climate coverage in terms of framing, context and journalistic skills – and, in collaboration with Netzwerk Recherche, the German Prize for Climate Journalism.
Joint activities: We share content and support one another to increase our reach. In 2024, KLIMA° vor acht contributed €1,500 towards the prize for outstanding journalistic work awarded by the network.

Campaigns for greater coverage of environmental topics in the French media and combats climate disinformation. To this end, the organisation runs the ‘Observatoire des médias sur l’écologie’ and an international initiative to expose climate disinformation on TV and radio stations in several countries.
Joint activities: We regularly exchange views on developments in climate coverage in our respective countries in order to provide an international perspective and a European comparison.

A platform for young people (about age 25–30) to network on the climate crisis, develop their own projects and engage in dialogue with decision-makers from the worlds of politics, business and culture. Activities include autumn camps, summer festivals and the organisation’s own climate award.
Joint activities: We organise joint events, such as ‘Climate Journalism as a Career’ in June 2024 or ‘Climate Journalism after 1.5°’ in April 2026. KLIMA° vor acht also constributes to the ‘Lunchtime Talks’ series and Prio1 provides a platform for our message.
